In today’s solo episode, Emily shares what led up to her taking a step back from Instagram. She has felt for a long time that she needed to take a break from being online but she was feeling pressure to keep it up. Like so many of us, she found herself scrolling and spending too much time on social media and that was something weighing on her to change. She also shares a situation that really woke her up and made her realize that she was on her phone too much. Although Emily loves her online community, and Instagram has played a massive role in the business she has built, she explains that mindless scrolling can have a negative affect on you and plays a big role in unconscious patterns. It was just time for her to redirect her focus and she believes many of us would benefit from doing this for ourselves. Do you find yourself being distracted by social media? Is it causing you to procrastinate or stop going after your goals completely? Are you allowing the comments or opinions of others to dictate your choices? Do you feel bad about yourself after you are on social media? If so, maybe it’s time for you to take a break and get refocused.
