My name is Greg Klunis and in this episode I want to talk about screwing up now. This is an interesting topic because we all

screw up, we all make mistakes, we all are not perfect. There's very few

perfect people in this world and we are not one of them and actually there's no perfect people but whatever.

The point is we screw up, we make mistakes. The problem isn't so much the mistake, The problem isn't so much to screw up. The problem is how we react to it, how we act. That's what determines the narrative. That's what determines how it's remembered and whether or not it becomes a bigger problem over time.

And so I figured since the problem is the reaction more so than the actual mistake we should probably have some kind of

framework for dealing with that for making sure that we react appropriately

and that we deal with it in the best way possible so that it becomes a minimal

issue so that it doesn't become one of those things that just sticks with you forever

and bothers you for the rest of your life and so I was thinking through this and realized it's a very basic thing.

It's actually very straightforward. So when you screw something up, when make a mistake when you need to apologize

There there's three basic things you need to do first you need to admit it you need to own it it and be okay with it and this doesn't necessarily mean

admitting it to another person, this can also be admitting it to yourself.

Many of us, when we make a mistake, when we screw up, we double down.

We try to fix it by ignoring it or by just running over it and hustling harder or whatever it is.
