But first, this week, a delegation handed in a letter signed by supportive MPs and peers to 10 Downing Street,

calling on the government to introduce automatic voter registration.

The campaign group Unlocked Democracy calculates that around 6 million people

who are entitled to vote

haven't signed up to take part in elections.

They held an event in Port Cullis House,

the modern parliamentary office block

just across the road from the Palace of Westminster,

to brief MPs about the situation in their individual

constituencies.
