Summary

In today’s episode, Emily talks about your life being an expression of love. Some people look at Valentine’s day as a day to celebrate romantic love, but some have experienced heartbreak, pain and disappointment with love and see this day very differently. That is real and we’ve all been there before. However, there are so many forms of love that can be celebrated today because love is all around us. What are other forms of love that are all around you right now? For instance, nature. God created a beautiful landscape for us as an expression of His love for us to enjoy and find peace in. How often do you step outside and watch a beautiful sunset and just feel your heart smile? Love isn’t necessarily a connection with another person. Do you have a pet? Animals are a huge source of love. Do you have a sibling you’re close to? How about a friend who always wants the best for you and is honest with you? Do you have a co-worker that you can confide in and always enjoy working with? It is important to actively seek the expressions of love that are all around you every single day. You are here to not only accept love, but to give love. Try giving love today to everyone around you. Be that expression of love you want for yourself. That’s today’s message.

I really want to share just a different kind of perspective of how to view this day. So if you

1:02.0

think about it, Valentine's Day is this day that is this manufactured holiday to essentially

1:07.4

get you to spend a lot of unnecessary money. Like even dinners are more expensive right now.

1:12.5

Everything is jacked up in pricing. There's so much pressure to purchase more than normal, just like

1:17.5

every other manufactured holiday, right? And we could look at it from a negative viewpoint or we could

1:22.6

look at it from a perspective of, let this just be the day that reminds me what my life should look like.

And I think naturally when we think of Valentine's Day, we think of the romantic kind of love. And I think naturally when we think of Valentine's Day,

1:46.0

we think of the romantic kind of love, right? We all desire to love and to be loved. And I think love is one of

the most powerful feelings. And it's so beautiful. And I know for those people that lack that

1:58.2

connection, that relationship right now, sometimes you can fall into the trap of

self-pity and of disappointment and discouragement and hurt and betrayal and almost like this
