So retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens wants to repeal the Second Amendment.

He wrote an op-ed for the New York Times this week saying that a repeal would, quote,

eliminate the only legal rule that protects sellers of firearms in the United States,

unlike every other market in the world.

It would make our school children safer than they have been since 2008,

which he's referring to the court's decision in District of Columbia v. Heller.

So this isn't the first time Justice Stevens

has proposed this amendment to the Constitution. He wrote a book in 2014, not that long after he

stepped down from the court, proposing six amendments, including banning capital punishment,

allowing Congress and the states to impose reasonable limits on campaign spending,

and restricting the second amendment right to bear arms to state militias.

Yeah. So I wasn't sure. So I did a little Google. And I found a 2010 heritage paper on this very topic by our vice president of the Defense Institute, James
