0:00.0	So as of course everybody knows the conflict which has been going on between Russia and the Ukraine
0:07.0	since at least 2014 has ramped up dramatically, has accelerated, has become a full-scale war.
0:16.0	And many people have asked me why I haven't been saying much about it, why I haven't been more vocal on social media or in my videos to talk about what is going on in that conflict.
0:29.0	And so I thought it would be worth the time to spend a few minutes to explain, first of all, why I haven't been more vocal and maybe give you a little bit of a sense of
0:39.7	my perception of what is going on or rather why it is that I'm being very attentive and a little
0:45.3	quiet at the moment to try to kind of perceive through the chaos and through the barrage of
0:53.9	information to get a sense of what is happening on a symbolic level.
1:12.8	This is Jonathan Peugeot. Welcome to the symbolic world. So the first thing to say is that the stories we are hearing that we are seeing coming from the
1:27.5	Ukraine are rather horrible. I think it's very important to pray for the people of Ukraine and to give
1:33.0	to people that can help in the humanitarian sphere. I myself worked for many years with a
1:40.4	Mennonite Central community, MCC, which I trust and which I know does good work.
1:44.9	And so we're going to go through that channel to try to do what we can to help the people of Ukraine.
1:51.8	I think that's the first thing to say.
1:53.9	I think a lot of people are distressed, especially Orthodox Christians, are distressed and are
1:59.7	feel a little bit overwhelmed by the
2:02.2	situation because what we're seeing in many cases are Orthodox Christians, or at least
2:07.5	people who identify as Orthodox Christians fighting each other, invading each other.
2:12.7	And so it is very difficult to kind of remain calm and to be objective about that.
2:18.8	That has, of course, been one of the reasons why I've been quiet.
2:21.7	But mostly, I'll be honest with you, I tend to not comment too much on international politics.
