Okay, so the movie Project Hell Mary is coming out. Yep. And so we decided to read the book before the movie. Like adults. Yeah, I know. How do you want to do this? Do you want to do an episode just on the book and then do an episode on the movie? Well, it's going to be really hard for me to do an episode on the movie because of how I have not seen it.

Yeah. Just the book is great. And I'm glad we're doing it this way because I've been really excited to see the movie. I've heard such nice things about it. The kind of things that get me excited about a movie. like it's not cynical and it's, you know, a throwback to a different era of storytelling. i did it first thanks for pushing me on that dude uh and just for full disclosure here we realized

the movie was coming out i have travel you. You have life things. And so,

do I understand correctly, you powered the audiobook in about two and a half days? Yes, I did.

Comically. My parents are here. They're wonderful. And I just had an earbud in my ear all the time.

And any time there was any lull in anything,

I had this on, and then I would fall asleep with it for the last three nights,

staying up as late as I possibly could in anticipation of getting this conversation in with you.

So there is a chance that there are going to be a couple places here and there that I may have actually slept through a bit,

but I was not bored. It was sheer physical exhaustion that caused me to miss it. So,

yeah, I'm glad we did it, but it was an adventure. So let's do it. I think for the third chair,

what I think I'd like to lay out here is we're going to go through the book, like as its major

plot unfolds we'll talk

i mean you're excellent with stories you being the humanities expert i really enjoyed the science

part obviously and people have been trying to tell me to read this for years finally did it because

i i wanted the book in my head before the movie so should we just start and go through the plot and just talk

about things? Is that how we want to do it? Yeah. And obviously, everything's fair game. So if you
