A couple of cool things happened.

Marab de Valy finished a fight.

That's cause for celebration.

Kayla Harrison submitted Julianna Pena in the way that obviously the UFC hoped she would.

Josh Van was awesome, but that was, you know, we expected that from him.

But let's start at the top.

Marab Valishvili versus Sean O'Malley.

My beef with Marab has been, I think I said, he often fights in a way where his main concern

is preventing the opponent from fighting more than it is imparting

damage or moving closer to a stoppage.

He had one stoppage in, I think it's 14 UFC fights up until this fight, which put him

at a 7% finishing rate or something like that, which is remarkable in the worst way.

But in addition, that was over Marlon Marias, who was absolutely shot.

He was in the middle of a what would become a seven-fight knockout losing streak,

which can be crazy because you watch Marab out cardio people and out work people.

You're going, surely in these longer fights you should be finishing people in the later rounds
