thanks for joining me again. The topic today is diligence and it's many applications,

though here we're just going to look at a handful obviously, but I'm going to

apply it particularly to diligence in our homes.

Deuteronomy 6-7, you shall teach them diligently to your children, and she'll talk of them

when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.

This is talking about teaching your children, God's word, God's law,

but notice you teach them diligently. And diligence is required all the time when you are bringing up children.

And actually, it's required when you're not.

I'm talking about bringing up your kids right now.

Notice, it's when you're sitting, when you're

walking, when you're lying down, and when you're rising up. There's just never a time

where God's word is not relevant and it is to thoroughly saturate and permeate the household all day, every day, and that requires

diligence to say the least.

That does not mean a Bible verse a minute all day long.

Rather, it's more of the fragrance of your home.

God's word gives us principles,

and we apply those principles in thousands of ways each day, first to ourselves and then to our children.

So our children should grow up in a grace-saturated God-honoring home,

and this, as you know, is going to require diligence.

Diligent means to be attentive and persevering to take pains, constant and persistent effort, tireless.
