Well, Pat, this is the 221st episode and you mispronounce your own last name on the last intro and then didn't remember what the intro is on this episode so we're

crushing it the episode title is Uncomfortable Safety

Yes and they're like how did you mispronounce your own last name?

something like that. Anyway, so yes, we're going to talk about

uncomfortable safety. And this came about because the whole concept last week somebody mentioned the idea of psychological safety because I'm I there was there's an author who wrote a book about this and we were like psychological safety and all of us kind of winced like wow what does that mean and it sounded like something coming out of a college like was. And Tracy did some research and realized that people have been talking about

psychological safety for years, right Tracy?

Yeah, I went back and it looks like, I'm not sure if this is true.

Carl Rogers maybe coined the term, although I did see that Edgar Shine was involved in some research around it as well.

So it's been around since the 50s.

There's some debate as to whether Bo Johnson came up with it. He claims to he was one. Some people are saying that.

Yeah. Yes. Whatever the case, this term actually has a really profound meaning, one we talk about a lot but it kind of got co-opted by people saying

oh people have to feel comfortable all the time and always affirmed and always agreed with and
