So I was talking to a man in Christian ministry about a month ago. I was actually on a podcast with him.

And he was talking to me about what we do at authentic intimacy. And so I threw a question back at him.

And I said, why do you think that God created us as sexual people? And he said, well, to have babies. And I said, well, God could have created us to have babies in many

different ways. He didn't have to choose sex. Like, you could just push a button and you have a baby.

You could shake hands and you have a baby. But why did he create it the way you did? And he said, well,

maybe also for pleasure. And I said, well, you just

eliminated the purpose of our sexuality for every single person. They're not going to have

babies. If they're not married and having sex, they're not going to experience sexual pleasure.

So why are single people sexual? And yes, single people are sexual by God's design.

God has a purpose in your sexuality if you're single, if you're divorced, if you're widowed.

But what's the purpose?

The purpose is that sexuality is a powerful metaphor that teaches us about God's covenant love.
