Welcome to another episode of At the Table with Patrick Linconey where everything we talk about is related to organizational health and the world of work. I'm joined by the full crew today of Cody, Bo, and Tracy. How are you? Good, that's wonderful to hear.

What is our topic today?

Robin and Batman. That's right, not Batman and Robin. topic today about

is we originally were thinking about the title being around

follow-orship, but we don't really like that word because it seems

it doesn't it's not enough. What we're talking about is people who play a

secondary role or a supportive role and are not the primary leader, but they are critical in an organization and any endeavor and yet they get a disproportionately low amount of attention and and yet it's

critical that we understand them celebrate them and really understand the impact

that they have on anything.

And so that's what we want to talk about today is it was originally followership, but we just

don't like that word.

I don't know what the right word is, but it's the celebrating of Robin versus Batman and Poki versus Gumbi, anybody who knows what that is,

and anybody who comes along and plays that secondary role, which is in fact leadership,

it's just a different kind. So that's what we're going to talk about today.

Yeah in fact one of the tensions that that follower type person can feel is they have a very

different role than the leader and we're told that we should want to be the leader.

That if you're in a number two role, it's almost not quite good enough and when are you going to step in and be the

leader and whether this has been true for all of history,

it's certainly true today that we've elevated leaders more and more that the idea of being the

point person, the number one is better than, it's more honorable,
