Most of the time those parents are worried about how their child is doing in school

and how to make things better. It makes sense when you think about it. A child's

confidence and happiness is tied to how they feel about their school performance.

How your child is meeting academic and social challenges at school

affects the whole family.

These challenges become amplified as teens enter high school.

Sure, middle schooler faced the pressures

of having to report to several teachers,

had lots of homework, and had to fit in

extracurricular activities into her schedule.

But in high school there is just more and more of everything.

A teen who did well in middle school

might find the demands of high school tougher

and get off to a bad start. A child who

handled the organizational challenges in middle school might find a new larger

school overwhelming leading to new found disorganization, forgetting to bring home books for instance or copy down a homework assignment.

It is a tough transition.
