Everything begins with energy, and the less energy there is, the less goods there are,

the less services there are, and the less there is to be distributed.

As I always say, if that is the future we want, fine, but I think everybody imagines themselves

to be part of that small sliver of society that still has access to those things.

They preach abstinence from fossil fuels, from energy, from electricity, all these kind

of things.

Emma always thinks that they themselves will not be part of that.

They all want to enjoy the means of modern technology, but completely try to conceal the

fact that without energy, this is going to end.

So Ralph, you speak and write about many different issues for many publications, including

Spike, I'm very pleased to say, and you also teach on political science and economics at

Webster University in Vienna.

So you cover a lot of issues in the work that you do, so there are quite a few things

I want to ask you about in this podcast, but I want to kick off with climate change.

Climate change is something that you speak about, you write about the energy issue, particularly

as it pertains to international relations and relations in Europe.

And I want to ask you just to begin with about the good news on climate change, because

we very rarely hear about the good news, but there is some out there.
