Not only do my kids not know how to use computers, but they all because they don't know how to use computers

They don't know how to fix things on computers like they don't even have they've never had to fix anything on a computer

It's like how do you learn how to fix crap on computers like because when we were kids

I probably didn't know anything so there was no one to ask and you had to just figure it out yourself

Yeah, we should have broke everything and figured out how to fix it

That's basically how we figured this all out

My son had a problem recently where he was like dad the computer only types capital letters

And so I came over and he was like in a Google document and he's like look capital letters

And it's not caps lock because cap lock light are on or off either way just produces capital letters, right?

And he was that was it. That was the extent of his debugging like he had he knew cap locks existed and he had tried

Toggling on an off and he confirmed that in one position light is on one position light is off

But either way tap the letters come up, but that was it. He was out of ideas

Hmm, and that's not that's not good. What was it like a stuck shift key?

So I tried another application, which is the first thing you try is this just Google docs or the browser

Or is it ever so been texted it sure enough only capital letters and text that it right so I'm like

Like the things you learned from a lifetime of debugging or things that could potentially solve this problem, you know, so log out right

We go to log out or you know switch users to master troubleshooting step turn everything off turn everything back off

And the login screen went to log into my account and when you see the little password thing

You see the little arrow that tells you that things cap locks is on, you know, yep that puts them right and so basically it was like the computer thought

Caps lock was on all the time it wasn't you could look at the keyboard and it doesn't matter the light was on or off

But the computer was totally convinced the cap locks on or off so I unplug the keyboard and plugged back in and I fixed it and my son said to me

Why how could unplugging the keyboard and plugging it back in fix it?
