Hi Betty how are you I'm very good but first I have something on my chest. We're having an interesting conversation at the weekend.

Me and a girlfriend about kind of like school and education and teaching that kind of stuff and I often joke that I'm retarded at math

and it's not something that sometimes I'm naturally good as a problem solver and stuff and

it made me think because we're having a conversation about what we liked at school and what schools

tell us we should like and we should do to be successful and all that kind of stuff.

And it made me think about all the skills that I have as a person and none of the skills

that I would say I excel in as an individual were skills that my school tried to make me do to be good at life, you know, math, science, English,

don't give me wrong, they will find that foundational knowledge basis like it's good that I know about

the world and geography and have a groundy and lots of stuff but me as an

individual now like I'm so glad I did creative arts at school like I did art I did design technology I did

acting I did theatre so I did all the things that a interested me in my

strengths and didn't listen to my environment because all my school went on about us,

if you do that you won't be successful, we can't really advise you in your career

path, we think you should just go into the military, and then at school would be like, oh why are you

doing that subject? It's a Mickey Mouse subject and I just, it makes you think how so much of our

education is built around stuff that quite often won't allow you to succeed as a person

and doesn't really play on your strengths as a person because we've all got skills, right?

It's a funny one because I think everybody obviously needs a base foundation knowledge in
