And today, we're talking about a big figure in a young Will Sloan's life.

It is the documentary filmmaker Nick Broomfield.

I'll give people a very short explanation of who Nick Broomfield is.

Perhaps you've seen him.

He's a mild-mannered, slightly bumbling British documentary filmmaker,

generally tackles sorted subject matter, and he stumbles his way into awkward and

potentially even dangerous situations, and through his deliberately

awkward screen persona, manages to catch people off guard and gets them to say things they

probably shouldn't be saying.

So I had heard about this filmmaker before, but I had never seen any of his films.

And the context that people would talk about him in was always like,

ugh, this guy.

Because, you know, he makes a lot of movies.

And he also, as Will said, makes very sordid ones, or tabloid-esque, if you will.

And the fact that he prefers to put himself on camera, that oftentimes his documentaries,

okay, let's be honest, all the time, his documentaries become about making the documentary

can great on viewers. Yeah, he is a Michael Moore type, at least in the fact that he's always

in his movies. He more or less set the

template for Louis Theroux, who basically took Nick Broomfield's shtick wholesale and

does it slicker. But more handsome. You know, I got to say, Nick Broomfield's not bad looking
