Day 11 of the fast.

What I would like to take time today is before I share how fasting ambushes the enemy.

I would like to share with you from Matthew chapter 6 on something that somebody just commented that I believe is important to address on Matthew chapter 6 and verse

16. Now this is a famous verse that most of you have heard about fasting. It deals with the motives of fasting.

It deals with us not, you know, trying to make a show out of the fasting.

Everything is great.

And then Jesus pretty much gives this advice to how to fast biblically.

And he says this, but when you fast,

somebody dropped it in the chat, when you fast.

It doesn't say if you fast, when you fast.

So that means that Jesus is expecting believers to fast.

When you fast, anoint your face. Anoint your face. That means honestly, take a shower

and brush your teeth. It means go about your normal day. Don't make a big deal about fasting.

Don't blow your horn, don't go walking around. Hey guys, I'm fasting. You don't need to update your Instagram status or your Twitter status.

And if you're going to go off of social media for a fast, you don't need to tell anybody.

I'm just going to offend some of you by telling that most people won't even realize that

you're off of social media.

Okay.

Sometimes we make such a big deal about our little sacrifices. We're like, oh, I'm just FYI. Next seven days, I'll be off of social media. Really? Most people won't even realize that you've been off of social media. Why? Because most people are so centered on themselves, they're not even thinking about you. And so just kind of do it.
