Hello, I'm Sean Curran, and this is today in Parliament from BBC Radio 4 for Wednesday the 21st of January,

when the Prime Minister accused Donald Trump of putting pressure on the UK over the future of Greenland.

He wants me to yield on my position and I'm not going to do so.

about the deal which gives the Chegos Islands to Mauritius.

The Prime Minister is giving away territory we own

and paying £35 billion for the privilege.

Also tonight, peers defy the government

and back a ban on social media for under 16s.

But first, the Prime Minister has insisted the UK will not yield in the face of pressure from Donald Trump over the future of Greenland.

The US President has made no secret of his desire to acquire the Arctic territory, which he says is vital to American

national security. And at the weekend, he threatened to impose new tariffs on countries,

including the UK, which have supported Denmark's sovereignty over the island.

Tonight, he dropped that threat and said he'd formed the framework of a future deal on Greenland

following a meeting with the NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutter. But when MPs crowded into

the commons at lunchtime for Prime Minister's questions, the tariffs were still due to come into

force next month. Secir Stama insisted the future of Greenland was a matter for the people of Greenland

and the Kingdom of Denmark.
