First off, apologies for the unscheduled absence of the show.

I've been unwell for the last couple of

weeks, but the next episode will be out next week. Today, I just wanted to say a bit about

the show and also to ask listeners if they might consider supporting it. So the podcast was launched

in April of this year, purely as an experiment, experiment really I used to co-edit a

website called New Left Project and I'd always wanted to do a podcast as part of

that site but for a bunch of reasons that that never happened I'm a bit of a

podcast junkie and and it sort of occurred to me that the UK left media scene

was was perhaps missing something along the lines of P to me that the UK left media scene was perhaps missing something

along the lines of PTO, something that was quite generalist, focused on both current political

events but also on theory and history, and also a show that was really focused on the

interviewee rather than the host so in some ways i was just

trying to create the sort of show that i that i kind of wanted to listen to and sort of felt

that that wasn't around since launching in april the show has had about 30,000 listens including

10,000 this month alone it's been rated 26 times on iTunes, which doesn't sound very much,

but it's pretty good going in Left Podcast World, and every one of those ratings has been

five stars so far. And the show has also regularly appeared in the iTunes top 100 podcast rankings.

So it seems to me that the show is doing pretty well and is so far at

least proving to be a useful part of the left media landscape in the UK. However, the podcast at the
