Summary

Throughout our bowhunting careers all of us at THP have experimented with mechanical broadheads. In this episode, Aaron, Greg, Ranch Fairy, and I talk about our experiences shooting mechanical broadheads and what bad experiences ultimately made us change back to shooting fixed broadheads with heavier arrows. Along with our own personal experiences, we also talk about how we watched countless videos of deer being shot by the Midwest Whitetail prostaff with mechanical broadheads when editing footage when we worked there. After watching hundreds of shots frame by frame we learned a lot about the potential problems that mechanical broadheads can have. We hope that by talking about our experiences we can help others become more successful archery hunters. 0:05.0	experiences with them. Over the last couple years you've probably heard us talk
0:09.4	a lot about fixed blade broadheads and heavier arrow setups but we wanted to
0:14.6	talk about some of the failures that we had with mechanical broadheads. They kind
0:19.1	of let us down this path of going back to fixed blade broadheads with heavy
0:23.6	arrow setups. Aaron Greg and I have recorded this down in Texas with our buddy
0:27.9	Troy Fowler who is also known as the Ranch Fairy and we actually have a video
0:32.2	version of this as well that will be coming out on our YouTube channel. You'll
0:36.2	hear us talk a lot about different broadheads and in the video version you'll
0:39.9	be able to watch those examples happen because we have a lot of footage back
0:43.5	and up these stories and you know we're not trying to hate on any specific
0:47.8	product but we just had bad experiences with mechanical broadheads and we just
0:52.6	want to share those experiences with you guys and maybe help somebody out. If
0:56.4	you're already shooting mechanical broadheads and you're having great success
0:59.0	with them and you don't want to change we're not saying that you're a bad bow
1:01.8	100 because of that. Don't want anybody to think that we're trying to bash anyone
1:05.5	by talking about these mechanical broadhead failures that we've had. If you
1:09.5	love what you're shooting by all means do that and have fun out there that's
1:13.0	the most important thing. Again we're just trying to help people out if they
1:16.5	feel like they're having some problems. So speaking of bow hunting at THP we all
1:21.1	shoot bear archery and be keeping an eye out on bears line of bows. We've got
