I got a question via email this week from Josh.

It reads, JJ, I'm a Broncos fan and I'm

just finding out that Vic Fangio has been hired as the new head coach.

Hiring a defensive coordinator seems completely counterintuitive to me, given what is successful

in today's NFL.

Just looking at the coaches that made the playoffs this year, Pete Carroll and Bill

Bellachack are the only guys who were defensive coordinators prior to being hired as head coaches,

and John Harbaugh was a special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach, but the other nine

guys were all offensive coordinators.

Obviously, Carroll, Bellachack and Harbaugh have been successful, but I feel like this is

more or less because of adapting.

From a fans perspective, it seems that to be very successful in the ever-changing landscape

of the NFL, then an offensive mind is a greater tool than a defensive one.

What would someone who sits through NFL data on a daily basis say?

I wanted to kick off the show with this question because of all the coaching changes that

have gone on throughout the league this week, and really it's such as the coaching changes.
