I'm your host Pat Linconey, joined by the full crew today of Bo, Cody, and Tracy, but before I ask how they're doing we've decided we are going to stop doing this here's why somebody wrote to me and she said

hey Pat you did that episode about not saying things that you don't mean like even when you're positive but it's not

sincere but you always ask people how you're doing and it feels like they're always

say great so we are gonna cut some time out of these by not asking but if there's something that's

going on in your life and you want to share it people do like to hear about

that but we want it to be sincere and so I'm going to share something I feel

really overwhelmed it's the beginning of January or early in January and I feel pretty

overwhelmed by all the different things there are to do and I don't know if other people feel that way but as I sit down to do this

podcast I'm feeling my

brain is scattered there's so many things I'm thinking about and so many priorities

I'm chasing so if anybody else has any overwhelming emotional feelings I'd love to hear about them anything

We're going to get started and what's the topic today, Cody?

Backseat driver. Backseat driver is usually thought of as something bad. Like don't be a

backseat driver. But when you think about leadership, you're in a car with the

other leaders of an organization. Not everybody's sitting there in the driver's seat,

only one person is. Everybody else has to do a good job of being a backseat or a passenger seat driver.

And we want to talk about that. And a dear friend of mine, a priest, I saw him over the weekend and he said

Pat you got to help me out here. He said what do you do when you're not the leader of a team? You're

number two or number three and and you have to influence the leader. How hard do you push?
