| 0:27.0 | Today I have with me a very special guest, a dear friend of mine. We've been friends for about over 10 years. Her name is Janelle. |
| 0:36.0 | And she will be speaking with us today about her struggles with a husband that has become disaffected with the church. |
| 0:46.0 | And we realize that this subject has been broached once before on Mormon Stories with a woman named Jackie, which I listened to her interview as as did Janelle. |
| 0:58.0 | And we discussed that and thought it was a fabulous interview. She had a lot of wonderful things to say and lots of great ways to deal with the issue. |
| 1:06.0 | At the same time, we were concerned that it was not completely representative of many people's experience with this when this comes up. |
| 1:17.0 | So we thought we would hit the subject again and just kind of talk about it and have Janelle share her story and what her experience has been for the past about five, five and a half years since this came to fruition in her marriage. |

| 1:42.0 | This will be this will be kind of fun for us since our relationship goes way back so we're both kind of excited to do this. |
| 1:52.0 | Can you give me a start with Janelle just a little bit of your of your background and tell us a little bit about where you come from and how Mormonism fits into your life and just tell us your a little bit of your story. |
| 2:07.0 | Sure. I was basically raised in the church. My father has been or was a lifelong member and my mom is a convert to the church. |
| 2:20.0 | And so because of your father, right? Because of my father. And so, you know, as a little girl, I was my mom was learning the gospel really as I was growing up. |
| 2:35.0 | My dad, his family was, you know, again, lifelong members of the church, but not completely active, not, you know, I think had testimonies, but not maybe doing, you know, everything, the way. |
| 2:56.0 | Mormons are kind of expected to do exactly not everything the way they should have maybe. |
| 3:02.0 | So I definitely saw my parents struggling a little bit as I was growing up. |
| 3:09.0 | My mom wanting to live the teachings and the things that she had learned as she was learning the gospel and my dad really not being comfortable or, you know, totally able to do some of those things. |
| 3:25.0 | So, like I said, we were active. We went to church every Sunday, but the living in our home was something that we were continually struggling to do. |
| 3:45.0 | So not as consistent as maybe I would have liked, certainly not ideal. |
| 3:52.0 | Right. And you're the oldest of five siblings, is that correct? |
