I'm a 33-year-old man who never read the Percy Jackson books as a kid. I read them as an adult because I was on a quest to determine if society had been sleeping on the series.

And now I'm seeing if society is sleeping on the ongoing Disney Plus series.

I don't think they are, given how much hype is around the show right now and how many different press opportunities and advertisements and people talking to me about it because they know me as the Percy Jackson guy, real life non-Persie Jackson friends talking to me about it. And we are joined today by a very special guest, someone who you have heard on the podcast before. And I'm delighted to have her back. It's Gillian Blum, an entertainment journalist who covers Percy Jackson, Jillian. How's it going? It's great to be here. Thanks for having me back. I am so delighted to have you back on the show. I'm also delighted that this is a way to rectify the fact that I saw you at New York Comic-Con but was unable to talk to you. New York Comic-Con was hectic. Wild. And I wasn't even doing any Percy Jackson stuff. I was just there for like a couple of podcasty things that were just more of like general

podcasting. And then I did the thing where I saw you, which was doing roundtables for Jurassic

World only because my wife is obsessed with that show for the Jurassic World Chaos Theory.

And we were there. But then I don't know if you had this situation, but that roundtable ended at whatever time it was, say, like, six o'clock. Like it was like a five to six thing. And then I had something that was six to seven on like the entire opposite side of the Javitt Center. That always happens. And you can't just like get to the other side of the Javitt Center. you have to like go down two escalators, walk all the way down, go up 13 escalators, answer three riddles, go across a bridge. And they're like the longest escalators you've ever bit on.

So long and there's so many like big hallways.

And then when I was leaving that six to seven thing, which I was trying to go to one of my friends' birthday parties, then I had to go down the giant escalators.

But some other giant thing had also gotten out at seven o'clock.

Oh no.

So I'm behind like seven thousand. one of my friend's birthday parties, then I had to go down the giant escalators, but some other

giant thing had also gotten out at 7 o'clock. Oh, no.

So I'm behind like 7,000 people who got out of some screening or trailer or whatever.

It was chaos. Were you there the night that they did the five nights at Freddy's stuff?

I was there Saturday night. Okay, I think that was Friday night. It was the last

panel of the day and it ended with five nights at Freddy's two. The mat-pad announcement happened.

Okay. And they gave out free t-shirts. Oh, maybe that's what I was there for. There were so

many people. It was so chaotic. I ran out of that room at full speed. I did not enjoy being caught in the clump of people, but I did enjoy my time there. But we're here to talk not about New York Comic Con hecticness. We are here to talk about episode four of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, a delightful episode. I've enjoyed every episode this season. I think they've gotten better with each episode, question mark.

Three is my favorite.

The writing in three is just really, really strong because I kept coming back to how funny three was.
