I'm hoping today I can offer some encouragement to those of you

who are sick or encouragement to those of you who are praying for sick people or

who are trying to encourage sick people, caring for sick people,

as well as just for all of us because we are all either sick now or going to be sick, you know what I'm talking about. We all know

people in fact so many people who are suffering from physical infirmities.

Dangerous infections, dangerous surgeries,

dangerous side effects from surgeries, cancer,

and the like.

I have one dear friend who's been in and out of hospitals and care centers since before Christmas,

which is now like five or six months.

And what can we healthy ones do besides pray for healing and visit and write encouraging

notes and make meals or sin flowers? Such things are really vital and important. But it's hard to know how to encourage and really

encourage those who are suffering.

As I was thinking about this yesterday, the Lord brought to mind this verse in Romans

12.

I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,

that you present your bodies a living sacrifice,

wholly acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

Are you lying helpless in an ER or recovering from surgery or anticipating surgery or laid up in a care center in a strange bed with strangers

caring for you in a hospital gown that's been your wardrobe now for several days or weeks or

months with tubes and blinking. your
