Welcome to the perfume room at my son of the day.

Today is Combe de Gerson Sticky Cake.

Now, I have had a lucky scent sample of this perfume for several years now,

and I have used it sparingly, just getting a little

whiff every now and again. But I did recently panic purchase a bottle because I heard that it was

discontinued. To be clear, I'm actually still unsure if it is discontinued because I did see it on the

Com de Gourson perfume website, but it was also like an unlisted link and most of its retailers, including

Lucky Sunt, no longer sell it. So I will just say this. With a little elbow grease,

you too can find a bottle. Personally, I ordered mine from Field and Florist and had no issues.

This is a scent that originally came out in 2005, so 21 years ago, and was created

by the perfumer Natalie Feistauer, and the entire collection that it was part of was later

discontinued and then relaunched in 2017, and in both instances, the entire collection,

but especially sticky cake, was so ahead of its time.

Its notes feel so prescient with current niche trends.

And you know what?

The scent profile perfectly fits my 2026 hypothesis of the year of Tender Weird.

So the pyramid boasts milk, pistachio, almond, honey, myr, and iris. And there's no white musk listed, but oh, is she

there? In fact, my first impression of the scent is like a true 90s musk nostalgia. It's that

sort of like hairspray white musk kind of 90s smell paired with a sort of iris dollhead barbie shoe plasticy smell and it's interesting

knowing that this is from the same nose who also created diesel plus plus and more recently

astrophil peri cherries because i feel pieces of both in those in this one as well, add to this dollheady hairspray musk,

a little bit of marzipan, both in its almond aroma, but also its unctuous texture. I'm very
