| 1:18.3 | 2024 draft? And I said, it's easier because to do that, you already have a two-year |
| 1:23.1 | samples on some players. So sign me up. That is why I redraft instead of pre-draft. I already know the answers. But I will say, this is a really fun class to look back on a lot of guys who, frankly, even falling out of the first round in my redraft, I was like, man, these are good players. I can't believe they're here at the very end of round one. I'm not even taking some of these guys. And then, of course, at the top, we have some very interesting players, some debates to have. I want to get right into it. And of course, since you're the guest, I have to give you the first overall pick. We're starting with the Chicago Bears. In the real draft, they took Caleb Williams field in our 2024 redraft, the Chicago Bears select. Caleb William Still, Bill. And I want to start by, I want to establish something off the gate, right out of the gates, is that I do think, teams with players that have been successful, I think are probably predisposed to want to keep that pick, right? There's a pride that is, is tethered to that pick that I think is worth noting here. I also don't think it's that crazy of a thought in general, right? You can, I would say, of the three quarterbacks to go one, two, three, the only players that I considered, the best individual season through six collective seasons of these three quarterbacks was either Drake May this year or Jaden Daniels as a rookie. I leaned towards Drake May this most successful team run was also Drake May this past season with Jaden Daniels, not far behind him, going to the NFC championship game a year ago. So Caleb Williams has neither had the most successful individual season or team season, and yet I still think it's the pick because I think that the best version of Caleb Williams still has a very compelling case to be the best of these three, which is to take nothing away from Jade and Daniels or Drake May because I think the bigger takeaway bill, and we could do an entire pod just debating the first three picks. |
