Good morning, everybody. Today is Tuesday, July 18th. Thank you for making me a part of your morning in this episode of first thoughts talking about the Kansas City Chiefs.

A lot of pressure on this episode. A few folks are listening to this one with a very keen ear for the Kansas City Chiefs. So there's a need to do it justice. And I've pushed this to the end because I knew there was some added

pressure on this episode. So hopefully I'll do this justice. I'm going to try my best not to talk

about the offense or at least talk about them as little as possible and give you something

different to think about with the Chiefs going into 2023. But inevitably with a team that has

reference to the offense that the chiefs have. I'm going to start this off with a stat to frame

this entire episode. And this was posted two weeks ago by Kansas City Sports Network.

Here's the stat. Quarterback career win-loss record when opposing team score 28 or more points,

including the postseason. Here we go. Josh Allen, 5 and 10. Lamar Jackson, 4 and 10.

Aaron Rogers, 17 and 46. Justin Herbert, 5 and 10. Aaron Rogers, 17 and 46. Justin Herbert 5 and 16. Joe Burrow, 2 and 8. Tom Brady, 20 and 33.

Patrick Mahomes, 17 and 13.

Think about that for a minute.

We just talked about Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Rogers, Herbert, Burrow, Brady,

all of those quarterbacks way below 500 in terms of their record when their opponent scores 28 or more points.

And it makes sense when you're playing a team that scores more than four touchdowns,

not going to win a lot of those games.

And the reason that this to me becomes really interesting as we go into 23 is because it reflects, again,

he's been in the league since 2018, when he took over a start or drafted 2017.

Already 30 times he's faced this situation where his opponent scores more than 28 points.
