This is always one of my favorite podcasts of the year because well I like to play at being a draft analyst one month a year.

0:07.6

There are people who do this incredibly well full time nobody better than he and actually his who intellect YouTube channel to me is the best draft YouTube channel out there mostly because I think you and I see eye to eye and we agree that's that's my standard for what the best one is but how do you do man great to have you on again.

0:27.0

Yeah man I appreciate you having me on once again you know just been working and getting ready for you know Thursday draft day so yeah.

0:35.0

Yeah look I want to ask you a question about your process of course you spend a lot of time watching throughout the year but you put together a video it's about 13 14 minutes usually on all these process prospects strengths and weaknesses.

0:51.0

How much time goes into actually creating one of those videos if you even can reduce it because I know you're kind of watching throughout the year.

0:59.0

Yeah so that's like always a difficult question to answer because I am watching throughout the year I'm flipping game so like adding the stuff from November or October it's kind of difficult to to kind of figure out a set number of hours or minutes or whatever but from like a start to finish point like during the draft season I say it probably takes you know a couple days.

1:20.0

To finish you know one of the videos depending on the prospects I'm take a little bit longer than others the Victor women Yama when I was 20 minutes that one was really difficult to kind of shrink down and put together try to cover all the aspects of his game but yeah I say it takes a couple days just to you know cutting up some more film that I haven't get to watch or revisiting and you know also looking through different stats and kind of.

1:45.0

I'm maintaining the approach of things that I've already taken notes on from earlier on in the year so you actually like just taking a note like at this time of the game I want to show this is like the strength like already cut this guy off nicely on this baseline drive I'm going to show that like show the guys lateral movement like you got those notes from like back in November when you go to put together video.

2:07.0

Yeah so some of that will be on there and also I'll just like cut the game at that point like you know the champions classic I'm just think a specifically Kentucky versus Michigan state I already had cut up case and while this is game I wanted to go back and watch that I think it had like eight steals in that game is like Kentucky record so.

2:25.0

I already had all that stuff is just like revisiting it and kind of looking at it through a different lens with like the full context of what he did during the year so that's kind of the case for most of the prospects.

2:35.0

Yeah I like that the thing that you do that makes me or that shows me like how much work you're putting in on some of these is synergy has all these categories and there's sometimes stuff will show up in it other times it won't really the thing that will show up is let's say a guy like tries to drive on the defender you're saying you're doing the video on the defender and the defender just cuts them off and then the guy just has to pass out of it to someone else and it's like that's not going to show up any way.

3:04.0

Show up anywhere in synergy where like you click on this and it just gives it to you and so I always end up seeing a lot of plays that I didn't see because I only have time to watch maybe like two full games that each of these guys in addition to like the kind of pre cut up stuff on synergy so that's what it shows me that like oh yeah you're watching like every actual game you're making notes even on something that's not just like oh I can just click on a button and see this like you can only see that by watching like full games and making notice certain plays yeah that's the that's the big thing.

3:34.0

Because it's not going to always you're not always going to be able to see the full context to certain things whether it's to defense especially with like a lot of the contest you know tracking stats you know you're not going to be able to see them cut off certain things and I just want to be able to paint as much of a picture as possible with a lot of that stuff so there is a lot of moments you know even passes obviously if it's not an assist you might not show up on you know the film or kind of clipped anywhere so that's another big thing that I like to put in there as well but yeah just kind of trying to just kind of try to do it.

4:04.0

Show the full picture of you know defense passing whatever the case may be.

4:09.0

Yeah especially because for a lot of these guys you know if they're not necessarily an on ball rolls a freshman or something like some of the stuff it is pretty limited like you are relying on a few of these flashes however for Victor Wembeyan we don't have to rely on flashes he's had probably more runway than any elite prospect that we've seen in terms of his ability to kind of do what he wants to do with the ball he's been talked about for years and years and years.

4:34.0

And you know being talked about as a general generational prospect I don't know if I can quite go like the greatest prospect in any sport ever that's like a little too far for me but as far as like the amount of time that you've been doing this is he the best prospect you'd say that you've evaluated at this stage.

4:52.0

Yeah for sure it's it's clear you know you just kind of look at the his combination of skills everybody knows who he is and what he can do at this point but just being that size and that fluid that agile and also being able to do what he can do as you know a shooter and you know projectably being better percentage wise there down the line and just his handle.

5:13.0

The obvious impact that he's going to have defensively being able to cover ground and defend a bunch of actions and protect the realm like he's he's doing it all at a high level in a pretty good league at this stage is just we just haven't seen anything quite like it and I haven't been doing this as long as some other people obviously LeBron is the guy that always gets brought up in terms like the full scope of things but he's for sure the best guy.

5:40.0

Yeah I mean certainly the highest potential units and that's the biggest thing that we value but also in terms of production to be an MVP of a European league at this age is really I think Luca although Luca was even at a higher level with like the early but he's he's probably the only guy who's had this level of production in a European league at you know age 19 essentially and so I think are you are you think so he's going to come in and be.

6:08.0

Like playing at all star level right away or you think it's going to take a little more time for him.

6:13.0

I think he's going to be I think it'll be close at the least I think it's hard to project a rookie as you know especially somebody who is still a little on the slider side physically and we'll have some some room to grow there but it's hard to project somebody to immediately come in and do that but I think he's going to be at least in the conversation being in the West is obviously makes it even tougher and I've everybody's healthy you've got everybody from LeBron and AD

6:37.0

coming in there to put like why obviously the Lucas Yokech all those guys who are kind of establishing themselves as the the top guys out there but yeah I think that he's going to to immediately perform and be a very high level player
