Summary

#384. Andy & Mia spend an extended intro recapping the ups and downs of 2022 at 59 North, highlighting the sale of ICEBEAR, the launch of FALKEN, Andy's scare with melanoma skin cancer, Mia's first trans-Atlantic since Axel was born, and more. Then we replay one of our favorite all-time episodes, a roundtable chat with John Kretschmer in Bermuda in 2021, with Andy, Emma & August co-hosting. 0:55.2

I did the first one back in 2013 on Kinship, the Saga 43.

0:59.7

It was really nice to be able to be out sailing.

1:02.9

And of course, it was my first, I think, was that my first passage without you, I think?

1:09.3

Yeah, it was.

1:10.2

And... You mean since Ax, it was. And...

1:10.9

You mean since Axel was born? Yeah, since Axel was born. And, no, it felt really good

1:16.0

to be back at sea and it was really nice to get a long passage in as the beginning for me

1:21.8

to be back sailing. So, what does it feel like, you know, we've, we've so long talked about what our life would be like when we had a kid and like being apart and taking turns, sailing?

1:34.9

I just got home yesterday from England. You stayed home with Axel. What is, does the reality match your expectations?

1:42.0

To me it does because I think my expectations are usually based on reality checks.

1:47.5

But, no, I think it is, you and me decided a long time ago that if you have kids,
