The Golden State Warriors are now 4 time NBA champions in 8 years.

The core of stuff, clay, draymond has been there and big parts of it for all of it.

Andrii Guadala was there as well. Steve Kerr is now a 4 time NBA champion coach and 9 time NBA champion

overall. And in the end, this series, as 10 US as it seemed for Golden State after game 3,

even in the middle of game 4, down 5, with about 8 minutes left.

Ultimately, the series wasn't that close because of Golden State's defense.

It really was an impressive defensive series for the Warriors and that capstone coming

in their game 6 victory. The Boston Celtics yet again, not only under 100 points, but held to

90 points, a 96.8 offensive rating, an 81.8 first shot half court offensive rating,

and that was a team effort. Draymond Green was absolutely spectacular.

Andra Wiggins had moments Gary Payton, Kavan Looney, Clay Thompson had some big defensive

plays as well. And it was appropriate. I thought, and we'll talk plenty about the context of this,

both for the Warriors and overall, is that there has always been this undercurrent. And it being

on the night when Stefan Curry deservedly won finals MVP, that the splash brothers and the offensive

firepower has always been at the forefront of the discussions about the Golden State Warriors,

but what has made them truly special, what makes them a dynasty, is that they combined that

electric offense with the league's best defense over this run-up time.

And in every series where they've truly been challenged, where they've been down,

it's been the defense that ultimately allowed them to squeeze the life out of their opponents,

whether it was Memphis, the first time they were down to one in the Kerr era in 2015.
