Summary

Edition #885

Today we take a look at the fallout from a badly reported case of rape at a UVA frat house. Rolling Stone seemed to be trying to help but with a completely upside-down approach of how to expose the problems of rape culture, compounded by one journalistic blunder after another, they only succeeded in making the problem worse.

Last month, Rolling Stone published an explosive 9,000-word feature titled A Rape on Campus, a brutal assault and struggle for justice at UVA.

0:41.0

The author, Sabrina Rubin-Eardley, opened with a terrifying description of a female college freshman being raped by seven University of Virginia fraternity brothers and pledges.

0:53.0

The story portrayed not just a brutal crime, but a wofful administration response bordering on obstruction of justice and an unreconstructed UVA rape culture.
