Thank you. We'll turn to the Friday evening mission from Father Beck. I am to speak to you tonight of two of those who suffered with our Lord on Calvary,

Mary Magdalene and Simon the Serenian.

Like Father Gardner, I'll try to refrain for the most part from commenting on the Passion of the Christ movie.

But I think it's a good place to start.

I refer to a scene, the scene when we're first introduced to Simon the Serenian.

The soldiers come to him to force the cross upon him.

And he cries out and he says,

These words aren't reported in scripture, actually.

But we do know that Simon was indeed constrained to carry the cross.
