0:44.2 | unlearned. I think the average person has been deeply harmed in their childhood. |
0:53.8 | And not necessarily with some kind of major childhood trauma |
0:56.9 | that we think of, you know, some sort of abuse or something like that. |
1:02.0 | Something that apparently every therapist believes everybody goes through. |
1:05.0 | No, I mean that the conditioning that we are given in our education is harmful to us, |
1:11.0 | not necessarily abusive. |
1:14.3 | But what I mean by harmful is what is the school system |
1:17.1 | supposed to do, is to prepare you for the real world. |
1:20.4 | So if you train, not teach, but train people to behave in ways counter to how the real world works and then tell them to go out in the real world and be successful, you've harmed them. |
1:31.0 | And I think there are a lot of things but I've about 20 of them for you today |
1:36.8 | That we're trained to believe these things and we literally have to unlearn them if we want to be truly successful in life. |
1:43.0 | And don't get me wrong, there's plenty of people that never let go any of those. |
1:46.0 | And a person standing at a distance from them would say, well, they're successful, they have a job, they work for XYZ company. They got a 401k. They get two weeks of vacation a year. They raise two kids that aren't in prison. The daughter's not on the stripper pole. She's out doing something useful. These people are successful by any measure of the words. |
