As we begin our study today, we are confronted with a question that has confused people

for many years. Why do bad things happen to good people?

We are looking at this question as we study 2nd Samuel chapter 12 and look at the sin of

David. David was a man who had a passionate love for God, but he was also a man who

sinned greatly by committing adultery and murder. In our program last time, we saw that the Lord sent Nathan to confront David with his sin.

When confronted, David made a simple and honest confession of his sin. We also saw what was going on in David's heart

because he penned Psalm 51 at this time. One of the statements that David made in

this Psalm is that he sinned against the Lord only.
