And when we start here, in just a moment, we'll be picking up in the second epistle of St. Peter

chapter two.

And I won't spend too much time going back through the first chapter or the introduction,

because technically we've done the introduction a couple of times now.

And last time sufficed for chapter one.

But just to quickly sort of cover the ground, especially what's relevant here to starting

chapter two, as we talked about what we're about to see in chapter two after the first

couple of verses especially is essentially the whole text of the epistle of Jude that we

already did out of order.

We read St. Jude's epistle early, out of order,

before we started 2 Peter for this reason,

because all the material in it gets sort of reproduced

here in 2 Peter chapter 2.

We talked about my at least hypothesis or theory that I've suggested, which as I've said, is not a hill I would die on.

But that this is because 2nd Peter is actually an epistle that was put together from St. Peter's teaching after his martyrdom,

making it similar to St. Mark's Gospel. We see that it circulates in similar circles.

We saw last time that St. Peter even makes a reference in this epistle to the fact that he's made a provision for them to

continue to hear his teaching after his death, right? So it's even sort of implied here in the

text itself that that's sort of what this text is. We talked about how, despite what it says
