When we get started in just a moment, we're going to be starting the second epistle of

St. Peter.

For the people who are here in 3D space and time, a long time has passed since the last

Bible study.

For people listening to this on ancient faith, no time has passed, like a week since

the last Bible study.

But so because of that, I'm not going to go back through everything we've already said

about 2nd Peter, even though it's been a little while for us, but I will do a

quick, quicker sort of catch-up in terms of the second epistle of St. Peter.

So as we talked about, and as I'm sure we'll be controversial when this is eventually

released, we mentioned that... as I'm sure will be controversial when this is eventually released.

We mentioned that the idea that St. Peter wrote 2nd Peter is problematic for a bunch of reasons.

Obviously, the first one is, as we talked about with St. Paul and the other epistles in the New Testament when we think of someone writing something that's very different than the process by which these

epistles were produced right we think of when we say someone wrote something we usually be like

that they literally sat down and put pen to paper

or stylus to papyrus or, right, the equivalent and wrote it down, right? So, but as we've

talked about at length before, by that standard, the only thing St. Paul wrote was his name a few times, right, where he says,

see with what large letters. I write with my own hand. That's not how things were written.

We've talked before that there would be a type of scribe called in Emanuensis, that person would have the epistle,
