Welcome to part two with Dr Robert Millett, second Nephi, 6 through 10.

Bob, I really like what we've done here. We started in chapter 9. This really is the heart of these sections, chapter 9.

Yeah. But we know Jacob gives us this beautiful doctrinal exposé based on the Isaiah chapters which it sounds like he was almost

assigned by Nephi to read and talk about Can we just jump back in six, seven, and eight and just show us where

Jacob maybe had the Genesis for some of these thoughts?

I would add one more thing quickly before we do that and that is also it'd be worthwhile

for a person to sit down and read second Nephi II and then read second Nephi nine and illustrate where Lehi shows up in chapter 9.

In other words, Jacob learned a lot from his father.

He took that seriously.

Chapter 6, I think we've covered much of this already.

We've talked about gathering and scattering, which is what six is.

Why don't we just start in with Isaiah in Chapter 7?

I look at Chapter 7 of Second Nephi and notice the opening verse.

Yea, for thus saith the Lord, have I put thee away or have I cast thee off forever?

For thus saith the Lord, where is the Bill of your mother's divorcement?

To whom have I put thee away, or to which of my creditors have I sold you?

Yea, to whom have I sold you? Behold for your iniquities have you sold yourselves and for your transgressions is your mother put away.

Just that verse alone is going to prep us for what's going to come up in nine because this is a verse about

notice the tail end of that verse you've sold yourselves well if you've sold yourself, how do you get back in good graces with God?

You have to be bought by somebody or purchased by somebody.

Or is the word we would use, redeemed by somebody.

We're learning about the doctrine of redemption early in this chapter.
