0:00.0	So we're going to begin with some overview. And there's some chapters in the Book of Mormon
0:05.6	that we'll need to go back to. So we're going to do a little bit of rewind. We'll do some
0:09.3	fast-forwarding, and then we'll come back actually into Second Nephi. So let's begin with

0:14.3	Yeah. So it's interesting that it's Nephi who gives us more Isaiah chapters than any other prophet in the
0:22.7	Book of Mormon. He is coming out of Jerusalem in 600 BC. Well, Isaiah was a prophet in the kingdom
0:31.1	of Judah from Nephi's hometown. He was a court prophet. He lived with the kings. He prophesied with the people in the king's court
0:41.6	here from about 740 to 701 BC. So it's not that far in the past for Nephi and Jacob.
0:50.3	It's like a hundred years.
0:51.8	Yeah. And so this is kind of his hero as far as scripture writing is concerned.
0:58.3	So he loves Isaiah and he's going to use him more than anybody.
1:01.4	In fact, it's interesting if you go back to First Nephi, 1923, Nephi tells us that he
1:07.2	was reading scriptures to his brothers.
1:10.3	He says, I did read unto them that which was written
1:13.2	by the books of Moses, basically. So Genesis, Exodus, Evidicus, numbers, and Deuteronomy.
1:19.0	Well, we know from First Nephi that he's been focusing a lot on Exodus. And Exodus isn't
1:25.0	that hard to understand compared to other books in Scripture, but you can
1:29.3	picture Nephi reading to his brothers out of the books of Moses and saying, you're
1:34.2	not making the connection, are you?
1:36.7	And Lehman looking at Lemuel saying, you're getting it?
1:39.0	No, I'm not getting – no, we're not getting it.
1:40.5	They didn't do their homework.
