Hello and I'm Checkin Saints, I'm Harriet Halerson and I have been looking forward to this week for, well, for four years now. In fact, many of you have been looking forward to this as well.

Today we begin our deep dive into what is effectively known as the Isaiah chapters.

And we will have two weeks on this.

They are the 12 straight chapters of Isaiah that seem to act as an impermeable barrier for anyone trying to make their way through second

Nephi from chapter 12 of second Nephi all the way to chapter 24, it's solid Isaiah, uninterrupted. And that has proved

to be difficult for way too many of us as members of the church. For some, in fact, don't feel bad if that's you because that was Boyd K.

Packer.

Elder Packer said when he was young he would read the Book of Mormon and never seemed to

have enough momentum to make it through the Isaiah chapters.

And so he'd give up and then have to start again and still bump up

against that barrier every time and the thought of keeping oh King Benjamin

holding him hostage to some difficult chapters from Isaiah

that's totally unfair and so we have to be able to make it through these Isaiah

chapters and not just make it through it this in some ways is the climax of what Nephi is trying to convey. He talks about, in his

writings, I'm going to include the most sacred part. Now everything I'm going to include I consider

sacred but there's levels to this okay and from from our understanding of what

he the way he lays out his writings the The sacred center of everything that Nephi gives us in first and

second Nephi basically are the Isaiah chapters. Essentially it's from

2nd Nephi 6 through 2nd Nephi 30. That's the canon within the

canon for Nephi. That's the most sacred of the sacred things. And last week we

began that but what was it? It was Jacob teaching Isaiah.

Then what? It's Isaiah, teaching Isaiah.
