This is Kevin from Epic Gardening.

Today we're going to talk about two different types of myths that you'll run into when you're buying

LED growlites.

And so LED grill lights have exploded onto the scene in the indoor gardening world, I would say over the last

ten years or so, and they've been getting more sophisticated, certainly. They've become a viable replacement for many other types of lights, high pressure sodium, metal halide, even T5 fluorescent.

And that's because they are exceptionally efficient as far as light

output and they can still do a pretty good job of growing plants. However, you will

still see certain myths being touted by LED companies and they think that this is a good way to sell lights and you know what you can you can hardly blame them because people are buying these lights however I do think that it's important to go a little bit deeper into some of these topics so you gain a base level of understanding.

So when you're out there trying to grow something or maybe even trying to buy one of these LED grow lights, you can understand

understand what the truth is and what is sort of like a marketing spinner

marketing hype.

And so let's go into two myths,

myth number one is that plants only need red and blue light and so this is one of

the reasons that you see purple LEDs everywhere.

So you'll often see LED companies that manufacture narrow band units.
