and let's get into our study. Second Kings chapter seven tonight. Again very

interesting chapter in front of us and looking forward to what the Lord has. So

assuming you're already there, why don't we pray? We'll ask God's blessing on our

time in his word, if you would join with me.

Loving Heavenly Father, we're wanting tonight to put aside all the busyness of the day

and the cares and the affairs of this week and just focus our attention upon you and in your word and that which you have for us in

your word tonight. Lord, we need for you to keep any of the distractions that would take

our focus off of your word. We don't want to have anything keep us from that which you have for us tonight.

So Lord bless our time together we pray. In Jesus' name, amen.

Let's just jump in now verse one, keep in mind we're coming in on the heels of a famine from a siege that was so bad that

they were actually resorting to cannibalism, eating their own babies, and as was actually

prophesied, and as was a fulfillment according to what we read in Deuteronomy.

So verse one now, everything is about to change.

It says, Then Elisha said, hear the word of the Lord, thus says the Lord, tomorrow about this time a sea of fine flower shall be sold

for a shekel and two seas of barley for a shekel at the gate of Samaria.

Okay.

I love chapters that start off like this.

We're off to a really good start, but I want to point

out something right here at the start, and it's not really so easily seen at first read, and

it has to do with whom this prophecy and this message is for. Elisha now is prophesying yet another miracle within

24 hours and that the famine will essentially end and this miraculously so. The message

from Elisha is to Jehoram, the King of Israel.
