With that, into our study of God's Word, Second King's Chapter 4 tonight.

A very interesting chapter, again, as they all are, looking forward to what the Lord has for us tonight.

Very encouraging chapter here in God's Word.

So, why don't we pray and we'll ask God's blessing on our time

together in His Word.

Loving Heavenly Father, thank you so much.

Thank you so much for this time that we have on Thursday nights here to come together

and study your word together and fellowship

together. Lord, this is for some of us such a highlight of our week, something that we look forward

to. And Lord, it's an opportunity for us to just put aside all the cares and the affairs of the day,

the busyness of our lives, and just focus our attention upon you.

Lord, we want to give you our ears to hear and our eyes to see and our hearts to receive, that which you would

desire to minister to us tonight. So, Lord, thank you in advance for what you're going

to do in this time that we have together. In Jesus' name, amen. All right, let's jump in.

Verse 1. A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying,

Your servant, my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord.

And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.

So the chapter begins with what we're about to see as yet another miracle and this is

going to be on the heels of the last miracle in the previous chapter, chapter three with the digging of the trenches.

Now this one involves a certain widow whose husband had died. Apparently this was a godly man,

but he had left his family with debt. And they didn't have bankruptcy back then.

According to the law of Moses, her sons would have to be sold as slaves until such a time
