Welcome to the Game Changer Life podcast. I'm Dave Anderson. I want to talk about mediocrity.

0:24.2

Mediocrity. Well, just the word, man, just kind of makes you cringe a little bit. I mean, kind of chills down your spine sometimes.

0:30.7

It's really an uninspiring word. If you look it up in the dictionary, it says average, ordinary,

0:36.6

not outstanding. There you go. Average ordinary, not outstanding. I mean,

0:41.7

come on, based on that, I mean, mediocrity sucks, right? It's just who wants to be mediocre? But here's

0:47.7

the thing. Nobody's born that way. All right, you could look at a birth certificate. It doesn't say

0:52.6

game changer on it. Doesn't say playmaker. Doesn't say caretaker. It doesn't say undertaker. Doesn't say mediocre or anything in between. Right. At the end of the day, mediocrity is a choice. Mediocrity is a choice. I mean, you look at the first two letters. It begins with what? It begins with

1:46.4

a relationship challenge, a friendship challenge, a job challenge, a financial challenge, a marriage

1:52.4

challenge. I mean, some people are like eight for eight. If I kept going, they'd be 102 for 102.

1:58.0

And you look around the room and everybody's got their hands up. And so the point is,

2:01.9

look, we all go through a lot of stuff, right? Now, some people, to greater degrees than others,

2:07.5

this one might have really had to struggle financially and this one had some really serious health

2:12.2

issues. But we all go through stuff. So why do we end up in different places? We all go through a lot of similar

2:19.0

conditions. We're really not that different at the end of the day. Over the course of our life,

2:23.2

we go through a lot of similar stuff. Why does some people end up at the top, some in the middle,

2:28.2

some never get unstuck from the bottom? Well, at the end of the day, people don't like to talk
