We'll let me get started in just a minute.

We'll be picking up in St. Paul's second epistle to the Corinthians,

2nd Corinthians chapter 1 verse 23.

We left off right at the end of chapter 1

because that's kind of the beginning of a new section.

Remember, the chapter breaks were not in here until the medieval period.

So they are sometimes placed what looks like haphazardly.

Probably they ran out of parchment.

Well, yeah, it's hard to tell because, of course, the earliest manuscripts we have

are written in all capitals with no punctuation and no spaces between words.

It's just written left to right and then right to left and then left to right,

working their way down a page.

So even where we break paragraphs and sentences is a little arbitrary sometimes.

But sometimes when you're reading the text,

we see cases of this obviously as we've been going through,

sometimes where the paragraph or where the chapter break is makes perfect sense.

You look at it and you say, oh, okay, well, yeah, this is starting a new section.

And then sometimes like this, it's like, if you'd moved it back three verses,

like it would make a lot more
