Verse five,

for we do not preach ourselves,

but Christ Jesus the Lord,

and ourselves,

your bond servants for Jesus' sake.

Right?

He just talked about how he lived his life, right?

But he's making clear, look, this isn't about me, right?

This is about me not getting in the way of Christ, who's the one I'm actually preaching.

Right?

Because bond servant is a nice way of saying slave.

Right?

So St. Paul says, in Christ, I'm your slave.

He doesn't just say he's Christ's slave, right?

He says he's their slave.

Right. So he's out of the way, right?

He's just their serving, trying to connect them to Christ. For is the God who commanded

light to shine out of darkness who has shown in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge
