This is the Bible Book Club, the book of Second Chronicles. Welcome to the club.

In chapters 32 through 34 of Second Chronicles, Hezekiah faced a formidable test in an attack from Assyria.

King Sinaccharib conquered all the fortified cities in Judah and then laid siege to the capital.

Hezekiah, with the help of Isaiah, cried out to God, who defeated the Assyrian army with

just one angel. Hezekiah was a good king, although not a perfect king.

His son, Manasseh, was an evil king, who led the people astray until divine discipline turned

him from his evil ways, and he came to know the Lord. His son, Amen, never turned in repentance.

And his son, Josiah, is the last good king of Judah. He discovered

the long lost book of the law and made it his mission to lead Judah into a right relationship

with God. This is our final episode for season 14. So if you have made it through Chronicles

with us, congratulations. We will begin where we left

off with Josiah, doing everything he had learned from the book of the law to set right

the Israelites' relationship with God. Scene 1. King Josiah celebrates the Passover.

Chapter 35, Josiah celebrated the Passover to the Lord in Jerusalem, and the Passover lamb was slaughtered

on the 14th day of the first month.

He appointed the priests to their duties and encouraged them in the service of the Lord's

temple.

He said to the Levites, who instructed all Israel and who had been consecrated to the Lord,

put the sacred ark in the temple that Solomon, son of David, King of Israel, built.

It is not to be carried out on your shoulders.
