This is CBSi and the world. I'm John Batcherel's running Wordsworth of Wordsworth of geopolitical futures. We're speaking of an ungoverned part of the world that needs to be governed in some fashion by a state actor.

Right now, Morocco makes the claim of the coastline of Western

Sahara. The Polisario sympathetic to the Algerians and vice versa are the interior of the Western Sahara.

Mauritania is also part of the mix but right now France, these are francophone countries, French colonial countries except for the Spanish

part, the Spain left in the 1970s. France is proposing resolution. However, this very much makes Algeria anxious. Why so?

Yeah, so Western Sahara obviously has been this divided territory, but since 2007, way back then, there was something called the Robert plan about potentially having this resolution which would give Western Sahara some level of autonomy

while integrating it into being a part of Morocco.

So they would control a lot of the, so the Western Sahara

would control a lot of the internal affairs while Morocco would control all the foreign affairs and

Morocco does do a lot of investment within the territory as well.

And this plan basically has been part of Morocco's ambition or diplomatic requests for a long time now for better part of 15 years or two decades.
