I'm John Bachelore with my good colleague Bill Rajo with the Foundation for the Defense of Democracy,

my co-pilot on this investigation in the fog of war.

Suddenly the Ukraine-Russia war is the Russia-Ukraine war.

Right now we have a headline in Russia in London saying that Ukraine dominates a thousand square kilometers.

John Hardy is here, he has an article up at FDD that indicates with some green pencil

what looks to be the advance of these very well equipped and mobile units for Ukraine. But, John, I'm concerned about logistics sustaining

this. You need equipment, you need weapons, you certainly need ammunition, you need you certainly need ammunition you need food and you need hospital supplies is there indication that Ukraine is moving with all of that is it all mobile or are they over running the Russian stuff and using it?

I haven't seen examples of captured Russian equipment being used. I think you're right to

point out the challenges of sustaining an operation that you know if the

Ukrainians are going to advance much farther you know their lines will get longer

more difficult to sustain they'll be more vulnerable to counter-attack.

So I think that is the challenge.

I think the Ukrainians are quite aware of that.

And so I think, you know, for example, a push all the way to Kursk the city of Kursk for example would be

rather tough to pull off I think right now you know as as Russia is flowing forces to the the area and what seems the lines are kind of starting to stabilize.

I think the Ukrainians will focus now on defending what they've taken.

It seems they've already started to dig in and so forces that are

there now will will focus on defense and trying to hold off the Russians meanwhile

the Russians will that seems right now they're consolidating their force for a counterattack

bringing in the very broad in some units bringing in additional

forces and equipment

and I think sometime in the next few days will make a very concerted effort to retake the territory.
